Enamel baths have long been deemed the ‘must have’ bath due to their lustrous finish and strength. However, the less desirable features of enamel baths are often omitted until the bath is in everyday use. These undesirable qualities include, extreme weight, potentially resulting in the need to re-enforce floors before installation and poor thermal qualities usually resulting in the bather needing to top up the hot water after a short period of time. Consideration should also needs to be made when cleaning enamel baths as some modern day cleaners can discolour and erode the enamel finish.
Understanding the allure of enamel baths and spotting an opportunity within the market, The Albion Bath Company created Iso Enamel, their own unique material which produces a solid, one piece 15-20mm thick bath considerably lighter and more durable than enamel baths. Albion roll top baths are approximately a third of the weight of an equivalent cast iron bath i.e. 65-70kg for a 6ft Albion bath as opposed to approximately 200kg for an equivalent cast iron bath.
Albion baths will insulate your bathing water, keeping it hotter for much longer than an enamel bath, while maintaining a highly durable interior finish which is more chip and scratch resistant than enamel or acrylic baths. There is no need to use specialist cleaning products either with Iso Enamel as it is durable enough to be used with modern day cleaning products and limescale remover without concern of damaging the finish.
